Achieve and Enrich

Our Achieve and Enrich (A&E) afternoons are a particular source of pride at Moorlands Junior School. These sessions are a wonderful tradition that enhance social interaction as children work in small groups with others from different year groups and classes. They also equip our pupils with essential skills for life in an ever-changing world.

During A&E, children take part in a variety of engaging activities thoughtfully planned and organised by teaching staff and external providers. Activities include cooking, photography, chess, sports, yoga, video production, gardening, using generative AI, crafting, CAD, wellbeing, and much more. By making the most of the increased flexibility schools now have in structuring timetables, these afternoons allow us to offer a richer curriculum with a strong emphasis on the arts, sports and the holistic development of every child.

We warmly welcome adult helpers to our A&E afternoons and during the summer term, invite Year 2 children from Templemoor as part of their transition. This fosters a sense of community and ensures younger pupils feel supported as they join Moorlands Junior School.
