Parent Voice

Here at Moorlands we value the partnership we have with our parents and each year we ask them to complete a questionnaire. We use the results of this, where we can, to improve our practice and the experience for our children and their parents.
You Said We Did
You wanted more information about your child's progress
We provided early opportunities in the Autumn and Spring Term for you to meet with your child's class teacher.
We introduced termly target sheets to provide you with up to date information of the areas your child is working on and their current targets.
You wanted to be kept well informed
We provide a weekly newsletter, regular updates on Class Dojo feeds, Twitter and Facebook.
Important messages are sent out via text or letter.
We have also developed and launched a new website.
We also asked you what you liked about Moorlands. Here are some of the things you said.

"Caring staff who are welcoming and approachable"

"Lots of extra-curricular opportunities"

"The outdoor play provision is fantastic"

"The sense of community and the friendliness of Moorlands is very good."

"The broad curriculum is a strength as then all children’s talents can be celebrated and it develops the whole child."

We also asked  parents what we could be even better at.

"Possibly might appreciate a little more guidance on work we can do together at home that would support our child’s learning."

"The relationship with Templemoor and the parents that are not yet at Moorlands. I know there have been great improvements but I think it should be a focus."

" earlier updates about child’s progress"
 "Website newsletters not always up-to-date"

"Some A + E activities don’t appear too popular, so maybe take some feedback from children + change a few activities"
